Service Summary

Resident Technicians (ResTechs) provide proactive, technical support in the residence halls to help students connect to Mason’s networks and to diagnose and troubleshoot computer problems residents may experience.

How to Get this Service

Services are available to all resident students. ResTechs can be reached at 703-993-8870 or via the Live Support button on the George Mason University ResTechs web site.

To request assistance from a ResTech, complete the Resident Technician Request form.

There is no charge for this service.

Additional Information

During "Move-In" weekend, ResTechs help new residence students gain access to Mason’s network.

Antivirus software
On every consulting visit, ResTechs check systems for up-to-date antivirus software. If none is installed, ResTechs emphasize the importance of antivirus software and help install it during the visit or as soon after as is reasonable.
