Special Network Service Requests

Service SummaryITS can facilitate the acquisition and operation of dedicated network infrastructure components for research and other projects that require special network service.
For more information about the special network services that are available, contact the ITS Support Center and ask to be referred to Network Engineering. A representative will contact you to discuss how your needs can be met.
Examples of special network services include dedicated Ethernet switches and attachment to national research and education networks.
This service is limited to Mason faculty, staff, and graduate research assistants.
How to Get this Service
Special network services can be requested by completing a Special Services Request form or by contacting the ITS Support Center and opening a ticket requesting a meeting with Network Engineering.
Depending on the type of service requested, there may be additional costs. These costs may include but are not limited to acquisition, installation, and maintenance charges for new network equipment, links, and electrical work.
This service is available 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
