Computer Relocation Services (for departments with less than 20 users)
Available to: Faculty & Staff
Desktop Support provides the following services for departments which are relocating Mason-owned computer equipment. Specifically, technicians will:
- Uninstall all computer equipment in preparation for the move (Desktop Support technicians will not move computer equipment between locations)
- Reconnect computer equipment in the new location
- Verify connectivity to the Mason network
- Verify printer connections and functions
Special requests to re-position computer equipment in the new location may be accommodated at the time Desktop Support technicians are on site.
Technicians will not move furniture or modify cubicle walls. Requests for these services must be submitted to the appropriate department or company.
All computer move requests must be approved by the department's Telecom Coordinator and Department Chair.
How to Get this Service
A completed Request For Computer Moves form is required. For moves of more than five users multiple forms will need to be submitted.
A copy of the completed form(s) with the Telecom Coordinator’s and Department Chair’s signatures must be faxed to the ITU Support Center at 703-993-3347.
A $30 charge per device will be billed to the department.
Computer moves are scheduled during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
