Public Printer Network Access

Available to: Faculty & Staff
Faculty and Staff may special register a departmental printer to be accessible from any network. This allows Faculty and Staff to print to their departments registered printer whether they are on the VPN, wired or wireless networks.
All users of the George Mason University network must adhere to University Policy Number 1301: Responsible Use of Computing.
How to Get this Service
Faculty and Staff must request Public Printer Network Access through the ITS Support Center. To fulfill the request, ITS requires the name and NetID of the person responsible for the printer, the building and room number where the printer will be located, the network access method (wired or wireless), and wired or wireless MAC address.
There is no charge for this service.
This service is available 24/7, excluding planned outages, normal maintenance windows, and unavoidable events. Maintenance windows are Sundays from 7 to 11 a.m. but may be extended to 2 p.m., if needed. If maintenance is required outside of these hours, it will be announced on the Planned Outages web page.
