Service Summary

George Mason University uses the Google Search Appliance as its search engine. All Mason web sites, excluding personal pages, are eligible for inclusion in the search results. In addition, departments, schools, and administrative offices are authorized to administer their own personalized search collections and front ends (how search results are displayed).

Customers are responsible for creating and maintaining robots.txt files for web sites they manage. To learn more about managing robots.txt, visit The Web Robots Pages. If a web site is over-indexing and over-using the licenses available, it may be excluded until the robots are corrected.
