  6. Once you have selected the appropriate link, you will be taken to the download page. At the bottom of the page, click on the link that reads, Click HERE to download the software to begin the download process.

  7. A box will appear that will ask you what to do with this file. You may need to select save file to disk and select the appropriate location on your hard disk. Place it in a location that you may easily find it later to continue the install process. You might want to consider saving it to the Desktop, and later deleting the file once the install is complete. If you do not save it to your desktop, please note the name of the file so it will be easier to locate.

  9. Be sure to save all work, as stated in Step 1, before starting the installation which will force a restart of the system to complete.

  10. If you have saved the file to a location other than your Desktop, select Start, then Run, and Browse to the folder where the Endpoint Protection Installer file is located.

  12. Installation Requires a Restart Window:

    • Managed (automatic updates) systems will force the required restart with a display of the 5-minute countdown for the forced system restart.

    • Self-Managed (Unmanaged) systems will allow a delay of the required restart prompt.

  13. ITS recommends scheduling live updates so your antivirus software is always up to date. After installation, click on Change Settings > Client Management – Configure Settings button > LiveUpdate tab > Ensure the checkbox is selected by Enable automatic updates and the frequency and time is at least every 4 hours.

  14. Remember, installing antivirus software is the first step. The second most important step is to assure that your virus protections are up-to-date. Periodically verify that the virus definitions are up-to-date by launching the application. If you aren't sure click on the LiveUpdate button.

  15. ITS also recommends maintaining the daily active scan to ensure it is running as scheduled.  You can check the last scan time by clicking Scan for Threats and checking the Last Scan column.
